Azwan and 41 celebrities will be in Terengganu for the annual Parti Cit Cat, which has been aptly themed Mesra Sokmo Cit Cat 7 Terengganu, as a tribute to the famous Terengganu greeting Senyum Sokmo, made popular by Akademi Fantasia 4 winner Faizal Ramly.

The Terengganu State Government and Terengganu Heritage Bay Club, where the Monsoon Cup is held, will host the party, their first for the talk show.

Azwan’s party will be held from Feb 23 to 26 and will feature many spectacular activities centred in Kuala Terengganu and its holiday resort Pulau Duyong.

At 8pm on Feb 24, there will be a free outdoor concert featuring a host of popular recording artistes. At 7pm the following day, there will be a private Gala Dinner at the club. The entry fee is RM80 and above (without dinner) and RM200 and above (with dinner).

Event organiser Mediate Communications Sdn Bhd will be donating the proceeds from the dinner to the flood victims of Terengganu and Johor.

On the first and second days of Chinese New Year, Astro Ria (Channel 4) will screen a two-episode programme, Menjelang Mesra Sokmo Cit Cat 7 Terengganu, a run-up to the party. The party itself will be screened in two episodes in April. Each episode will be repeated five times over different time zones.

Cit Cat Azwan, produced by Azwan Ali Productions, has been running for almost a decade.

Parti Cit Cat is in its sixth year. The previous venues have been Sebana Resort in Kota Tinggi, Johor; Desaru Impian Resort in Kota Tinggi, Johor; De Rhu Beach Resort in Kuantan, Pahang; Kelab Cinta Sayang Golf Resort in Sungai Petani, Kedah; the Royal Adelphi Hotel in Seremban, Negri Sembilan and the Equatorial Hotel in Penang.

The party was officially launched by Terengganu State Executive Councillor for Culture, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisations, Din Adam, at the Palace Of Golden Horses Hotel in Seri Kembangan on Jan 18.

Also present were Astro Malay programming acting head Khairul Anuar Salleh, Azwan, Mediate Communications managing director Gary Thanasan, actor Fahrin Ahmad and singers Salamiah Hassan, Hattan, Adibah Noor, Ferhad, Ezlynn, Azharina Azhar, Yanie Julkarim, Velvet Aduk, Syamsul “Diddy” Muhid, Amylea Azizan and Yusrizan “Bob” Usop.
